I have found the service to be invaluable with the support and advice I have been given. This service is not just about the child it is about the parents, carers and wider family. It offers support when we feel we have nowhere left to turn and on our knees. I struggled massively with my son after his diagnosis of autism and felt the school he was in was not meeting his needs but happily taking his funding to fund other parts of the school and other children. Gateshead PCF helped support me through a managed move to a more suitable school. It was a game changer and my life has changed for the better. I still visit the coffee mornings to help listen to other parents possibly going through the same experience as me. Without this PCF group I honestly don’t think I would have got through it. My mental health was being impacted by it all massively. They do brilliant family days, pamper days for parents and carers and much more. I can’t thanks the members of the group and the parents who attend enough for everything they have supported me with through a very uncertain, difficult and dark times. They made my child know he was valued just as much as the next child. I look forward to many more coffee mornings. Thank you so much again for everything.
